Red, White & Blue Fruit Kabobs
After my successful Rainbow Fruit Kabobs for St. Patty’s day, I decided to experiment with Red-White & Blue fruit kabobs for the 4th of July! These would be a healthy, fun treat at any 4th of July festivity.

Chad and I flew with the youngest two kids to L.A last weekend for a photoshoot. It was both Locke and Croft’s first flight and our first time flying with kids in a long while. We did a few things right and we learned a few things.
My husband loves to go to the movies- especially the ‘man’ kind. You know where the hero should have been killed 10 minutes in with all the bombs and gun fire, but somehow he survives. The ones where cool guys don’t look at explosions.
My self-titled “Education Nerd” friend, Lisa, commented on one of my travel posts and gave me this idea for road trips. She had her kids earn movies, treats, games, etc. by doing educational worksheets worth points. I gathered she has an elaborate folder/point/worksheet system where she allots different points for different things. I decided to try a modified, simpler version of this idea and tested it out on a shorter 4 hour trip.
Friday is our last day of school! This is an exciting day in the lives of all children (and teachers!) so I thought I better get going to make this day special. I started thinking about how the kids get out early on the last day of school and I decided to focus on something fun they could use the last day of school.
For Crew’s 5th birthday, he wanted a Sonic X birthday party. I was hesitant because I knew nothing about Sonic X. As I tried to tell him I didn’t have any ideas, he said, “Just google it mom.” Well, I googled “Sonic X birthday party ideas” and wasn’t that excited about anything I found. So I sucked it up, gave myself a pep talk, and decided to create my own party.
