When I was a little kid and teenager, my mom had the stupidest quote posted on our fridge. I remember the quote going like this: “I am not dead,” Sir Andrew cried, “wounded, but not slain. Let me lie here and bleed awhile and then I will rise up and fight again.”
I spent 4 1/2 days away from my family, up in the mountains, with about 200 women and teenage girls at Young Women’s (YW) Camp.I learned a lot about the gospel and the Holy Ghost, but for the purposes of this post, I want to record what I learned about myself:
A few years back my husband gave me a pink iPod for Mother’s Day. He and the kids were so excited to give it to me. They had heard me mention that I really wanted something to play music on and they took note. My husband and kids all got on the computer together and found the perfect iPod. My little daughter picked the pink color.
I am continuing on this health journey, although if you saw my grocery cart yesterday you wouldn’t believe it. Boxed cake mixes, sugar cereal, and Dad’s rootbeer just to mention a few of the unmentionables. I blame Father’s Day and Girls Camp. But on most days I try. I really do.
