Mormon Mondays

So I have had this dilemma with my blog lately.

As my loyal readers probably know I am a Mormon.  (You can read all about us quirky folks here.) And being a Mormon isn’t just something we do on Sunday. We are religious every day of the week.  We try to pray morning and night as individuals and as families.  We pray over every meal.  We try to read from scripture every day. We have Family Home Evening (FHE) on Monday, activities and meetings during the week, and then 3 hours of a church on Sunday.  It is nearly impossible to separate our life from our religion.

And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

But it does cause me to pause a bit with my blog.  I find that many of my posts are rooted in my religion or are really specific for a Mormon audience.  (Like I want to do a whole series on FHE lessons for preparing kids for Baptism.) But I worry about my readers that aren’t Mormon.  I don’t want to alienate them or bore them or confuse them with my Mormon posts, but I also want to be true to myself and my core beliefs.   So herein lies my dilemma.

I considered starting a separate blog where I go totally Mormon-  where the whole blog focus is raising LDS lemons. But I am not sure I am ready to maintain two blogs.  I also considered keeping the Mormon material completely off the blog and making my blog religion neutral.  But then I didn’t feel like that would be authentically me.

So I came up with a temporary solution that I feel might work: Mormon Mondays.  I will post my really Mormon stuff on Mondays.  Family Home Evening lessons, scripture insights, Mormon lifestyle, etc. That way people know what to plan on and what to expect when they check the blog.  If some readers don’t want to read my Mormon posts they just won’t read the blog on Mondays, but the other days they can still get parenting tips or helpful ideas or whatever else I do on this blog?  (What do I do on this blog anyway?) And maybe there are some of you that get overwhelmed by the other stuff and really only want the Mormon posts anyway.  So you would just check the blog on Mondays.

I hope this plan is a win-win for everyone.  I’ll give Mormon Mondays a try and see how this plan works for me and for you.  I may change my mind and revamp, but for now we will see how it goes.

Here are some upcoming Mormon Monday posts:
