The Edge

My song right now is “The Edge of Glory” by Lady GaGa.  I loop it on my iPod and belt it at the top of my lungs. And it’s my song because I feel like I am on the edge of something and I’m hoping it’s glory.

I have only had this feeling one other time I can remember. I was just cleaning off my TV and suddenly I knew a big change was happening soon.  I wasn’t even sure if it was a good change or a bad change.  Then Chad came home that day or the next and said he was offered a job in California.  I don’t know if I would have been as supportive of such a big move if I hadn’t received that inspiration while cleaning the TV.  Long story short, we took the job,  Chad got released as Bishop, we never had to move, and that job got us completely out of debt within the first few months. It is one of the best decisions we ever made.

I have that same feeling now.  Change is coming and I am on the edge of something…

Maybe I am on the edge of freedom.  Croft is in preschool this year and Locke still takes a nap.  I am hoping for 1-2 hours by myself almost every day.  What I can do with a few uninterrupted hours…

Or maybe I am on the edge of fortune. My husband has a few business ventures that are just starting to take off…

Or maybe I am on the edge of fame.  I have really never done anything intentional to grow my blog and get advertising, but maybe now is the time to put more into the blog and actually try to make this big…

Or maybe I am on the edge of a new frontier.  We are itching to move and get a new house, new neighbors, new ward, and  new rooms to decorate…maybe even a new city or a new state…

Or maybe I am on the edge of a new career path… maybe a book, maybe design opportunities…

Of course there is always the chance that I am just on the edge of a nervous break down or a major life challenge.

But either way “I’m on the edge….” (yes, I’m singing this as I type it!) The problem is I have no idea which edge I am on.  Maybe I should go clean my TV.  Wish me luck!
