Before Thanksgiving and Christmas last year, I posted about my goal to clean out 45 boxes in 45 days.  It was my way of coping with loss and counting down to Christmas.  I put 45 post-it notes up on my wall and I got to take one down every time…

I’ve had this theory for a few years now that going to the temple is like eating vegetables. But before I delve into my simile, let me tell you a little about temples. As Mormons, we go to our temples to worship Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. But our temples are different than our churches that we go to every Sunday.

I remember when I was first married. I was so proud of myself when I got dinner on the table. Even if it were just spaghetti with bottled sauce and french bread from the store. I may or may not have had a vegetable to go with the meal. It didn’t matter; I made dinner!

Happy Mormon Monday! Due to some stake boundaries changes, my husband was released as the 2nd Counselor in the Stake Presidency last week. Our house is still in the same spot, but we are now in a different stake. After 10 years, I get Chad back on the bench with me at church.

I believe strongly in eating together every day as a family. All together. At the same time. Sitting down at a table with plates and prayer and “please pass”. I honestly believe family dinner is one of the weapons we have to defend and protect our families from an increasingly crazy world.

Not only is today my birthday, but I am now the big 4-0! Society puts a little pressure on this birthday.  I am supposed to have a surprise party or lots of black balloons around or be on a fun trip to Hawaii.  I could tell my husband was feeling…
