Back on the Bench


Happy Mormon Monday! Due to some stake boundaries changes, my husband was released as the 2nd Counselor in the Stake Presidency last week. Our house is still in the same spot, but we are now in a different stake. After 10 years, I get Chad back on the bench with me at church.

Rocket Science


Sometimes healthy eating feels like rocket science. All of the mixed messages can be confusing. So today I want to share with you the simplest, most intuitive health change I made to help simplify the rocket science of nutrition. There is a whole other level to nutrition if you want to go organic or completely non-processed, but this is a great place for us beginners to start.

The Over-Rewarding of Children


Having a blog is dangerous. Before a blog, you just keep your alternative thoughts in your head. You smile and nod at people as they walk by. You sit in church and PTA meetings and look normal. But once you have a blog and start writing about honest feelings and strong opinions, your brain gets exposed. People may relate to you or they may think you are ridiculous.

Friday Breakfast


I believe strongly in eating together every day as a family. All together. At the same time. Sitting down at a table with plates and prayer and “please pass”. I honestly believe family dinner is one of the weapons we have to defend and protect our families from an increasingly crazy world.

Kitchen Zones


There is no way around it. Cutting out processed foods takes more time in the kitchen. Instead of popping in an Eggo waffle, you make a whole wheat waffle from scratch. Instead of grabbing a pouch of fruit snacks, you cut up apples. Instead of a frozen pizza, you make your own. Because I found myself in the kitchen more often, I wanted to streamline my experience. I decided to organize my kitchen into ZONES.
