Last year’s thrift goals and this year’s budget crack down got me thinking… especially about birthdays … on a budget. I began to ask a few questions: How much should we spend on the kids’ birthdays? What does this budget include? The party? The celebration? The fun food or just…
I was fascinated by their “war rooms”- whole rooms dedicated to temporary projects. These rooms start out as empty and then when the company lands an account or a project, the team takes over the room with vision boards, models, brainstorming sessions, design ideas, prototypes, etc. When the project is over they clean it out and the room moves on to the next project.
Mrs. Bowman, my 6th grade Science teacher, passed back our Science tests. She hadn’t recorded them yet, so she wanted us to tell her our scores when she called out our names — in front of the whole class. She said if we were uncomfortable with our scores we could walk our papers up to the front and just show her. Since my last name started with an ‘S’, I had heard most of the scores before me and I was uncomfortable sharing my score.
Whoever said, “Money can’t buy happiness” never bought my bike. In fact, if I had know how much happiness I would feel riding bikes with my kids, I would have bought a bike and the trailer much, much earlier. My bike is a pretty mint green / pale aqua blue….
Last week was our Spring Break, and we didn’t go out of town. After a week of all the kids being home, let’s just say I got a little peak into what my summer is going to be like. A summer test run if you will.
