I have been a bit weary lately with the burdens and pressure I feel as a mother to protect, monitor, and educate my children about the dangers that are out there — from pornography to sexual abuse to profanity. And I can’t forget about technology. Instagram, SnapChat, You Tube, Vine, etc. all have their own set of issues; we are talking about sexting, cyber bullying, and stalking just to name a few.

Ever since my post on Dare, Dream, Do, I have been letting myself dream bigger and dream more. I have been letting myself think outside the box; I tell myself it is okay to not do what everyone else is doing. I have tried not to be discouraged by logistics or finances or limitations or other people’s opinions. I’ve just let myself dream to my fullest capacity.

Locke grew up overnight. No, he really did. He went from a little guy in diapers needing mom for everything to an independent, talking, briefs sporting little guy.

I told you last week that I’d decided to homeschool my 6th grader this year. We officially started on Tuesday. As my husband drove off with the two other kids to take them to school on the first day, Elle and I looked at each other with a little panic. I asked, “Are we really doing this?”

I am following a dream. My son outed me at a family dinner at my in-laws so I guess I am okay to out myself here on my blog. After much thought, prayer, and research, I have decided to homeschool Elle this year. She is my 6th grader.

I have a confession to make: Our family has SUCKED at scripture study this summer….like I am not sure we have even done it once. We have been so diligent as parents with family scripture study thus far, what would it hurt to take off just one summer? Well, let me tell you…
